Just finished TCT, and really enjoyed it. The story and characters actually reminded me quite a bit of A Wrinkle in Time. The battle system was also very good, although there could stand to be some more distinction between your characters, either through more unique skills or variation in their stats. I also really appreciated how unsettling some of the enemies were (particularly Mr. Pierce and the Rahl*mart employees), but in a way that didn't interfere with the essentially childlike perspective of the protagonists.
One thing I am a bit curious about, though: Up until the final battle I was convinced that Officer Maxwell was going to be revealed as Alex's brother. The flashback to the brother's disappearance, the hints that Maxwell sympathized with the kids and might even have been on their side in the past, the way that Maxwell focused his attention on Alex and took her seriously in a way that no other character (except Kyle) did, and of course the fact that he was obviously going to be defeated by Alex using her brother's old guitar which might even restore him to his senses, all seemed to indicate as such. But then the dialogue with the brother during the battle, and the lack of any confirming dialogue afterwards (which is when I would have expected such a revelation to be made) have left me doubting. Were these connections intentional? Note that I will take silence as confirmation of my theory.
In any event, I will eagerly await future releases. Keep up the great work!
